Head of Bio-Pharmaceutics for Patheon UK Limited, Swindon
Patheon is a leading global provider of contract drug manufacturing and development services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. This growing and dynamic Company employs more than 5,000 people at 14 sites in North America and Europe generating revenues in excess of $712m (US) in 2006. The site at Swindon employs over 500 people with over 150 working in Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) which is currently growing at over 30% pa.
Reporting to the Vice President of PDS (Pharmaceutical Development Services) Europe and serving as part of the PDS Executive Management Team, the Head of Bio-Pharmaceutics will lead and grow the Bio-Pharmaceutics division. He/She will manage a team of well qualified scientists working on the analytical and formulation development of peptides and proteins and be key to the continued growth of expertise and capabilities within the Company, providing a centre of excellence for clients. Opportunities exist for the right individual to develop the role and take on European responsibilities (Italy and UK).
This is a new, exciting and challenging position pivotal in the biologics strategy for Patheon PDS.
Specific requirements are:- Excellent technical background in peptides and proteins, preferably with PhD
- Management experience
- Good business understanding
- Client facing, with very strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Some industrial experience would be preferable, ideally within the contract sector.
